One time with lipstick, and one time without (because I think it looks a bit strange)
And another style of making hair, without hard outlines and using the brush tool. For hair like sketchy has it is quite useful but I don’t know if other manes go well with this technique :\ Oh and the eyes were made with a brush as well ^^
Me: Lets search for an easy way to draw scales!
Internet: Lol dude there IS no easy way to draw scales, only different ways!
Me: Ah screw you Imma try out some of the techniques there.
*draws a cross pattern with dots in the middle and shades it*
Me: Holy fuck that looks like she’s in a net of ham!
*draws criss cross pattern*
Me: Way too big scales and they don’t look natural hurr durr -.-
*draws guidelines to help arrange the scales*
Me: That’s basically the same way as I did them before, now with guidelines *derp* Hey but it looks cleaner and it does goes faster a bit.
Screw you scales! Sometime I know how to shade and do them properly so that no weird depth effects occur!!!1111eleven

Why do I need so long for colouring @.@

The scaling of scales, scales down to a point where any more scaling would rise the scale of my WTF level @.@
Seriously! I highly doubt that I would EVER do something with this much detail again, although it was quite fun to do so =:}
Yes, I drew each and every single scale AND I added light effects or shadow on each single scale and added some more lighting over it.
4 layers just for the scales and the lighting @.@
Well unless anyone has a great idea how to draw something like this in less than 5 hours of (almost) uninterrupted dedicated work I would like to hear about it :x

I had this idea for around 1 week in my mind and in the beginning intended to spice it a little bit up, buuut instead I tried my new pony style, messed around with feathers again (horsefeathers! I can’t do them right >.<) and aimed for something cute/mildly suggestive :p

There are 3 new things I tried out in this one!
First being most noticeable is the new pony form. I was asked not to make her chubby cuddly like my usual pony style and here you go! New and trimmed and toned ponee!
Secondly I tried a new way of drawing hair. So this time I was using a brush only to make the hair, I think this looks quite purdy, right, right?
Third, I tried to apply real live shadows of a forest. It is not exactly what I had in mind, but on the other hand I don’t really know what I had in mind in the first place ^^’

I tried something new here with adding muscles to a pony. For anyone who wonders about the weird shading on Cpt. Shadowstep that should just show that he’s a soldier and has a well toned body ^^’
I’m quite satisfied how the lightning went out and it took me some time to figure out how to add the “water” effect to the Captain so he looks soaked. I don’t tell you what it looked like he was covered in before I figured out that I don’t need large glops of bluish white to simulate the effect of water.
This time the hair looks rather good, but I want to test another way of shading hair next time (at least I’ll try it)
Nonetheless I hope you enjoy it Captain Shadowstep for so long you liked and supported my art it was about time to give you a little something =:}
